Biography
I was born and raised in Silicon Valley. Since 1981, I have lived and worked in Europe, Turkey, and Latin America.
After graduating from Gilroy High School, I served as a Paralegal Specialist (71D) for Army JAG in Germany and competed on its USAREUR tennis team. While deployed overseas, I was granted temporary living and working status in Germany and Turkey and pursued higher education at the University of Heidelberg. Positions included;
— Battalion Secretary, 34th Signal Battalion (Stuttgart)
— Transcriber, German Government – Single European Act, European Union
— Copywriter, Audi, Trans World Airways, Pan Am (Marketing)
— Regional Marketing Manager, United Airlines (Germany)
— Freelance songwriter, lead singer, radio voice, and studio recording assistant.
1992: Returned to the US to work as a European liaison and VP Assistant at Scientific Games in Gilroy. One year later, I was accepted by Ahlman & Associates for a two-year Marketing apprenticeship program in Los Angeles. A year later, I was recruited by Earvin “Magic” Johnson for his Club 20/20 grand opening in Beverly Hills.
1998: Moved to Las Vegas, joining the Bellagio opening team as VIP guide under President Bobby Baldwin, WPT Super Satellite coordinator, and Aruba Poker Classic co-coordinator/tournament director.
2003: Shifted to journalism, becoming a lead photographer and writer for CardPlayer Magazine and COO of Poker Press Box, a web-based gaming news and live-update company.
2004: Founded GreasieWheels (GW, LLC), providing exclusive coverage of NBC’s televised Poker After Dark and High Stakes Poker and joint coverage of ESPN’s WSOP, The Travel Channel’s WPT, NBC’s Heads-Up Poker Championship, and the Aruba Poker Classic.
GW, LLC inspired me to found Poker Throw Down™ (PTD), the first public celebrity poker tour for the average Joe competing against professional players and celebrities. With only $1, sponsored products, and donated services, GW, LLC raised $3.7 million for NSPCA*, JDRF, the National Kidney Foundation, Road 2 Recovery, Xtreme Couture GI Foundation, and more. Venues included Caesars, Hard Rock, Golden Nugget, Venetian, the Playboy Mansion, and Harley-Davidson of Las Vegas.
Today I head a licensed boutique marketing company with locations in Gilroy (CA), Las Vegas (NV), and San José (Costa Rica).
